Making Coffee is my daily routine.
There’s something in taking the time out to put the effort in that makes it even more rewarding.
Just like listening to vinyl instead of streaming or kneading your own pizza dough instead of ordering takeaway.
One of my goals with Danelaw is to de-mystify specialty coffee and I think one of the best ways to achieve this is to help you make great coffee in your own kitchen. I will be hosting regular demonstrations on Instagram Live to talk about different brewing techniques as well as introduce my coffees.
To help you get started though: I recommend 60g per litre for filter coffee brewing (whichever method you choose) and a ratio of 1:2 for espresso. If you’re using a stovetop Moka pot, you’re very special, so you will need to follow your own special guidelines. A friend of mine wrote the definitive guide to the Moka, and you can find it here: https://www.labottegamilanese.co.uk/blogs/whats-the-story/moka-pot-with-a-third-wave-eye
Always grind fresh if you can, and use filtered water.
