Prices, inflation and frustration.

Not sure if you’ll have seen any coverage of this in the news lately, but things got expensive. Petrol, gas, electricity, food - all the things a growing boy needs, they’ve all got pricier.

When I launched the business in April, I thought I had done a good job of benchmarking prices where they would need to be for the longer term, and I was hoping I could avoid having to put the price up. I got that wrong I’m afraid.

When I look at the prices I’m paying for coffee now, vs when I first bought coffees for this project, my average cost is up about 20% and as with so many businesses, I can’t do anything about it other than to update my prices to my customers.

On average it works out at about 11% or so. I still think that it is a competitive and fair price for the coffees and I still think it’s in a similar range to other roasters locally too.

I feel really bad for my customers that I’m having to do this. I’m sorry. I know you’re all seeing the same challenges that I am too.

Ways to save a bit of money -

  • 500g bags work out slightly cheaper than 200g bags

  • If you don’t need a box, use the code NOBOX at checkout for 10% discount on your order (works on orders of 2 boxes or more)

  • Consider a subscription

  • Order before 25th August. I’ll make the price changes after the roast day window closes.
